Thai E-San Kitchen in Dixon May Just Have the BEST Thai Food Around!

I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate my mom's birthday at. I knew I wanted to try something new that I hadn't been to before. On a whim, I looked up placed to eat in the Dixon area. Thai E-San Kitchen came up very highly rated on Yelp. The pictures looked good and the reviews were glowing so I decided to give it a try. I AM SO GLAD I DID.

Food -
Thai E-San Kitchen has a huge menu with the gamut of Thai dishes. They have favorites like green curry and pad thai. They also have Thai soups that feature that signature spicy and sour taste that is unique to the Thai taste. You can also get delicious appetizers, desserts, and drinks as well. There is a lot to select from.

I went for my favorite - the green curry. It came with a generous portion that I knew would fill me up. In it was the meat of my choice (chicken) as well as lots and lots of vegetables to round out the dish. Having it over rice was absolutely perfect. I ended up just dumping my rice into the green curry dish and letting the rice soak up all the green goodness.

The dish was mildly hot with that amazing balance of coolness from the coconut milk in it. My mom got the green curry with salmon and enjoyed it tremendously. The salmon portion was large and meaty. She thought it was great!

The overall taste at Thai E-San kitchen is very authentic. There was less of an 'Americanized' taste to the food and the food featured a few items that I'd never seen before. One was a pork belly lettuce wrap covered with fried pieces of rice flour. It had a ton of flavor and was the most surprising dish of the night for us.

For your thirst, you can get traditional Thai iced tea, but they also have other flavored teas to select from. If you're into boba, you can add boba to your drink. To finish off your meal, try the fried banana or fried roti.

Service/Atmosphere -
The service was the absolute best. The servers were very helpful and got us everything we needed with a friendly attitude and smile. I found them very down to earth and easy to talk to. At the end of the evening they actually boxed up our food for us in containers and had it all ready to go when we were ready to leave.

The general atmosphere isn't anything fancy, in fact, during dinner it was a little bit dark, but I think the overall presentation has its own charm.

Price -
The prices at Thai E-San Kitchen are reasonable. This place won't break the bank and is on-par with other Thai restaurants. I'd place the value here to be high for the quality and portion of food that you get.

Special Tips and Recommendations -
Fried banana is a dessert that you don't find at many places. Dessert can easily be overlooked whenever you go out to eat - especially at Asian places. If you haven't had fried banana yet, give it a shot! It's really a great meal finisher!

Bottom Line -
I really love Thai E-San Kitchen. It's a restaurant that isn't the easiest place to find because of its location in Dixon. If you live anywhere near Dixon, it's worth the trip to have a meal here. I can't wait to come back for my next meal!
